Personalizing a Lattice Quilt

Let me introduce you to one of my favorite baby quilt patterns....the lattice quilt.

I once discovered this pattern while searching for the perfect quilt for my friend Cassie's beautiful new adopted babygirl. See this little cutie and her quilt below!

I had a customer recently contact me about customizing this quilt. She decided to use Riley Blake Design's new Saturday in Paris line. Follow that link to find it! Amy, over at Diary of a Quilter, published this pattern and it is absolutely perfect.

I did a little tweaking to this pattern in order to personalize it for my customer! I omitted the bottom right corner's charm squares and sashing, and instead, included a solid piece of white fabric (16.5" x 5"). Over it, I created Kenslie's name in a raw-edge appliqué. Next, I pieced it together like a regular row, including the strips and borders.

This quilt is so fun to put together and the end result is so beautiful!

I finished this quilt with an all-over free-motion quilted swirl with hook, which is one of my personal favorites! I can't wait to see this quilt in it's new home. It is currently making its way to Canada from our home in Georgia!
